Ranjan Singh

Ranjan Singh is the founder of Omit Systems and the builder of Omit, an offline PII redaction suite for Windows. He is a generative AI and product engineer who builds production AI systems, and Omit is the privacy layer of that work: local-first detection and redaction, so personal data can be cleaned without leaving the machine it lives on.

Before Omit came Telos, an app where people write down the most personal things about themselves. Making it useful meant sending some of that writing to a language model, which is where the problem stopped being abstract: private text leaving the machine for a service nobody in the conversation controlled. The tooling to strip the personal details out first either uploaded the text in order to find the names in it, or was a set of libraries you assembled yourself. Omit Systems exists because that step should not be something every team rebuilds, and because the only control that holds is making the sensitive data never leave the machine.

That is also why the writing here carries numbers. When a claim can be measured it gets measured, the corpus and the metric are published with it, and when the measurement goes against us that gets published too.
