When Zamzar is the better choice: for a one-off conversion of a non-sensitive file into an unusual format, its 1,100-plus formats and zero-install convenience are genuinely useful, and it is UK-based and GDPR compliant. Omit Convert wins whenever the file is confidential, because the only way to be sure an upload cannot leak is to not upload at all.
Keep Zamzar for rare formats and non-sensitive one-offs. Route confidential documents through Omit Convert to keep them on-device and stripped of metadata.

Zamzar states the original file is removed as soon as conversion completes, and on the free service the converted file is stored securely for a maximum of 24 hours. Clearly stated and reasonable for a web service.
