When Granola is the better choice: its note-taking craft is genuinely excellent, and if you want a refined notepad that syncs across devices and you are comfortable with encrypted cloud storage, Granola is a strong pick. It also does not allow third parties to train on your data. Omit's difference is that the transcript never reaches a server at all, so there is no cloud copy to trust, sync, or secure.
If Granola's cloud storage is the sticking point in a security review, Omit gives you the same local capture and summaries without any server-side transcript to account for.

Audio is captured for transcription and then discarded. You get the transcript and the cleaned-up notes, not a recording you can replay. That is a deliberate privacy choice on their part and a real one. It is also a limitation if you ever need to go back to what was actually said, which Omit Meet lets you do because the recording stays on your machine under your control.
Granola on pricing and privacyAudio goes, transcripts stay. They remain until a user deletes them or an organisation applies a retention policy. So the sensitive text, which is the part that contains the names and numbers, is the part that is retained on a server you do not run.
