When CaseGuard Studio is the better choice

CaseGuard is a full redaction department in one install, and if you redact body-cam footage, recorded interviews or call audio, it does work Omit Redact does not do at all. Its training and account management are a real advantage for agencies rolling redaction out to a team. Omit is the smaller tool: documents, spreadsheets, email and images, with every detector working on a machine that never touches a network, for a one-time price rather than a per-seat annual contract.

Switching to Omit

If you use CaseGuard for media, keep it for media. Omit Redact can take the document side, writing a separate redacted copy of each file and leaving the original untouched.

What we checked, and where it came from

Suites, prices and AI credit allowances were read from CaseGuard's own pricing page, platform and processing claims from its own FAQ, and offline behaviour from its own help center, on the date shown. Pricing moves, so treat the figures as of September 2026.

Verified 25 September 2026.

Per user, per month, billed annually

Doc Suite is 279 US dollars per user per month, Media Suite 299 and Ultimate Suite 379, all paid annually, with custom Enterprise pricing from 10 seats. Doc Suite includes 48,000 AI credits a year for document analysis. The pricing page shows no one-time licence.

CaseGuard pricing

It runs locally on Windows

CaseGuard's FAQ says Studio is installed on your organization's computers, runs on Windows 10 or 11, and processes no files in the cloud. Mac and Linux users run it in a Windows virtual machine. It offers a 7-day free trial.

CaseGuard FAQ

Offline mode drops its cloud AI services

For air-gapped machines CaseGuard issues an offline key tied to one device, and the change is irreversible. Its help page says AWS transcription, translation and AI analysis services are unavailable with an offline key.

CaseGuard, online vs offline keys

Omit keeps its full detection offline

Omit's detection runs in a bundled local engine, so an isolated machine gets the same automatic pass as a connected one. You can verify it with the network unplugged.

How Omit is built

Choose Omit when

Choose Omit Redact when your work is documents rather than media, when the machine is air-gapped and you still want full automatic detection, or when a per-seat annual contract is more than the job needs.

Choose CaseGuard Studio when

Choose CaseGuard if you redact video or audio, need PST email, want team collaboration and hands-on training, or are equipping an agency that handles evidence and records requests at volume.

Questions people ask

Is CaseGuard offline like Omit?

Partly. CaseGuard says Studio runs locally and processes no files in the cloud, and it offers offline keys for air-gapped machines. Its own help page says that with an offline key, its AWS transcription, translation and AI analysis services are unavailable. Omit's detection, including its language models, is bundled and runs with the network off.

Does Omit redact audio or video?

Not Omit Redact. It handles documents, spreadsheets, email and images. If audio and video are the core of your work, CaseGuard covers them and Omit Redact does not.

How do the prices compare?

As of September 2026, CaseGuard lists Doc Suite at 279, Media Suite at 299 and Ultimate Suite at 379 US dollars per user per month, paid annually, and shows no one-time licence. Omit Redact is a one-time purchase. See our pricing page for current figures.

Is CaseGuard unlimited?

Its plans offer unlimited document redaction, and the AI document analysis on Doc Suite comes with 48,000 AI credits a year. Omit's detection is local, so there are no credits to spend.
