When Otter is the better choice: for collaborative meeting notes shared across a team in real time, with formal certifications behind them, Otter's cloud service is built for that. Omit Voice is for private dictation and transcription where the recording must never leave the device, and where you want PII stripped from the transcript automatically.

The suit alleges Otter recorded conversations and used them to train its models without consent from every participant rather than only the host. The allegations are untested and Otter disputes them. It is raised because consent from other participants is a structural issue for any service that uploads audio, not because the outcome is known.

Our position is different in kind: no audio reaches us, so there is no vendor environment to attest to. Ask your reviewer whether that satisfies them before trialling either.
