End User License Agreement
Last updated: 30 July 2026
This agreement governs your use of Omit software. By installing or using an Omit product, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not install or use the software.
License grant
Omit Systems grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use the Omit product you purchased, subject to the tier of license you bought. A license key is issued for your purchase.
Perpetual license and updates
Your purchase is a one-time, perpetual license. It never expires: the software keeps running for as long as you keep the license key, with no subscription and nothing about your right to use it that renews or lapses. Included in your purchase is 12 months of new-version updates from the date of purchase. After that period, the version you have keeps working exactly as before; it stops being eligible for new-version updates unless you renew that eligibility. Renewing is optional, and this agreement makes no commitment about what a renewal will cost.
Permitted use
The license tier determines how you may use the software, and on how many devices. A personal license is for personal, non-commercial use only, by one named person, on one device. A commercial license permits use within your organization for commercial purposes, by one named person, on up to two devices belonging to that person. Additional devices or additional people require additional licenses.
Restrictions
You may not:
- resell, sublicense, rent, lease, or redistribute the software or any license key;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the software, or circumvent its licensing, except to the extent the law expressly permits;
- remove or alter any proprietary notices; or
- use the software to violate any applicable law.
Ownership
The software is licensed, not sold. Omit Systems and its licensors retain all intellectual property rights in the software. Third-party open-source components included in the product remain under their own licenses, which are listed within the product.
Your data
Omit processes your content locally and does not transmit it, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for the files you choose to process and for complying with the laws that apply to that data.
No warranty
The software is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, to the maximum extent permitted by law. Redaction reduces risk but does not guarantee that every piece of sensitive information is removed. You are responsible for reviewing output before you rely on or share it.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Omit Systems is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Our total liability under this agreement is limited to the amount you paid for the license. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, so they may not fully apply to you.
Trial and refunds
Paid Omit products may be offered with a time-limited trial before purchase; for Omit Redact, that trial runs 15 days from when you start it inside the app. If a purchase is later refunded, the refund is logged, but the license key already issued to you is not revoked: this key format has no revocation mechanism, and because license verification happens offline, there is nothing to check a revocation list against. Purchases through the Microsoft Store are also subject to the Store refund policy.
Termination
This license ends automatically if you breach these terms. On termination you must stop using the software and remove it from your devices.
Governing law
