Protect is the clipboard guard inside Omit Redact. It takes the personal data out of whatever you copy, before you paste it into a chatbot. There is no key to enter and no trial clock on it. It keeps working when a trial ends, and it keeps working if you never send us a penny, which is why it is not one of the cards above.
What each tier unlocks
Every tier is the same engine and the same offline guarantee. Personal and Commercial are the identical Omit Redact, byte for byte: what changes is the licence grant, the model tier and the level of support. Full Suite adds the other apps and the launcher that ties them together. This table is what a key unlocks, not what has shipped: Omit Redact is available now, in beta, and the rest are coming soon. Protect, the clipboard guard inside Omit Redact, sits outside this table: it is free for everyone, permanently, with no key at all.

What activation does not do
A licence check is usually where an offline product stops being offline. Ours is a signature check against a public key compiled into the app, so the list of things it does not do is longer than the list of things it does.
It does not call a server
There is no activation endpoint, so there is no endpoint that can be down, rate limited, or retired. A machine that has never seen the internet activates exactly like one that has.
It does not count seats or check in
Nothing phones home on a schedule to confirm you are still entitled to run. The key is verified locally each launch and that is the entire transaction.
It does not expire
Perpetual keys stay valid. The 12 month window is for new versions, not for the licence, so a key that has stopped earning upgrades still runs the version you have. Time-limited preview keys exist for evaluations and the app says plainly when one has run out, so an expiry is never a surprise.
It does not create an account
No sign-in, no profile, no password to reset. The licence is a file you hold, which also means you are responsible for keeping a copy of it.
It does not report usage
Activation carries no telemetry because the product ships without an analytics endpoint at all, rather than with one switched off.
It does not police the personal grant
A Personal key and a Commercial key unlock the same software. Nothing in the app inspects your employer, your documents, or your machine to decide which one you should have bought, because that check would need the surveillance this product exists to remove.
It does not fail open
If a key is missing or invalid, the gated feature refuses to run rather than quietly running unlicensed. On managed fleets an administrator can restrict features further, and the app shows that as a calm managed state instead of an error.

Because activation is local, a licensed machine keeps working with no network, indefinitely. The licence itself never expires. What runs out after 12 months is eligibility for new versions, and renewing is optional.

On managed fleets, an administrator can restrict features, shown as a calm managed state, never an error.
Pricing questions
Is Protect really free?
Yes, permanently, and it needs no licence key. Protect is the clipboard guard inside Omit Redact: it redacts personal data out of anything you copy, before you paste it. What a paid key buys is the rest of the product, file redaction across PDF, CSV, Excel and images, the reversible vault, and the Accuracy detection tier, which run on a 15-day trial first.
Is this really one-time?
Yes. You pay once and the licence is perpetual: the software keeps running offline for as long as you keep the key, with no renewal to miss and no server that can switch it off. Included in that price is 12 months of new versions. After 12 months the copy you have carries on exactly as before, it just stops being eligible for the versions we ship next.
What happens after the 12 months of updates run out?
Nothing you have to act on. Your licence stays valid, the app keeps working offline, and every feature you already have stays. The only change is that new releases need a renewal, and renewing is optional. This launch makes no commitment about what a renewal will cost.
What is the difference between Personal and Commercial?
The licence grant, the model tier and the support level. Nothing else. Personal and Commercial install the same Omit Redact with the same detectors, the same operators and the same vault: the cheaper tier is not a cut-down build. Personal covers your own use, Commercial covers use at work and adds the Accuracy detection tier and priority email support.
What stops someone buying Personal and using it at work?
Nothing technical, and that is deliberate. Enforcing the difference would mean the app inspecting who you work for and what you redact, which is exactly the surveillance we built this product to avoid. So the personal grant is a matter of honesty rather than a lock. If Omit earns money for your employer, Commercial is the licence that covers it.
What is the difference between Fast and Accuracy?
Fast is the default model tier and it ships with every install. Accuracy is a heavier transformer model that catches more, at the cost of speed and memory. It ships inside the offline installer only: the light installer cannot fetch it afterwards, so take the offline installer if you want the option.
Do you offer volume licensing?
Yes. Enterprise covers volume and site licensing, admin policy, and offline rollout. Contact sales to set it up.
Is there a subscription or account?
No. There is no account and no recurring charge. The license is a signed key you keep.
What happens if I activate with no internet connection?
Exactly the same thing that happens with one. Verification is a local signature check against a public key compiled into the app, so a network-isolated machine activates normally. This is the case we designed for, not an edge case we tolerate.
Do you count seats or check licenses in periodically?
No. There is no seat count and no scheduled check-in. On managed fleets an administrator can restrict which features are available, which is a policy control rather than a licensing one, and the app presents it as a managed state rather than a failure.
What happens to my installation if you stop selling Omit?
It keeps working. Because there is no activation server, there is nothing whose shutdown could disable an installed copy. That is the practical difference between a perpetual local license and a subscription, and it is the reason we built activation this way.
Can I move up a tier later?
Yes. Upgrading is a key swap rather than a reinstall: the new key encodes the wider capability set and the apps unlock on the next launch. Write to us and we will issue it.
Does the Accuracy tier cost extra?
No. It is included from Commercial upwards, and it is already on disk if you ran the offline installer, so switching it on needs no download and no connection. The light installer leaves it out and cannot add it later, which makes the installer you choose the one decision here you cannot revisit.
What does a Full Suite key open?
Omit Redact, Omit Voice, Omit Convert and Omit Meet, plus the Suite launcher and its Redaction Hub, which is the tray shell that ties the four together rather than a product of its own. Only Omit Redact is available now; the rest are coming soon, and the key already covers them.
