When Fireflies is the better choice: if you need a shared, searchable meeting archive with CRM integrations, and formal SOC 2, HIPAA, and GDPR certifications matter to your procurement, Fireflies is built for that and Omit is not certified. Fireflies also offers a strong zero-day retention option. Omit takes the opposite path: keep meetings entirely local so retention is not a policy setting but a physical fact.

They state plainly that customer data is not used to train any AI model, and they apply a zero data retention arrangement to content shared with third-party vendors. That is a meaningfully better posture than the industry default and it deserves saying.
